Promoting Your New Web Site

There is a very funny feeling you get right after you put your new web site "on the air." You've spent tens or hundreds of hours creating the site, you've worked long and hard making it look just right, and you put it out on the server and... You REALLY want people to come look at it! That is why you created it in the first place! You want the right people to come visit your site so that they can see what you have to say, order your products or whatever.

In order to get people to come visit, they have to know that your site exists. Therefore you have to promote the site. No one will find your site by accident: something has to lead them to your site.

The goal of this series is to talk about all of the different techniques you can use to draw people to your site. From search engines to paid advertising--there are many different techniques you can use to encourage people to visit. After reading this series of articles you will know all of the different angles.     One way to feed traffic to your site is to get other sites to link to yours. Generally they will want a reciprocal link back. This page shows you several options.
